Ceer unveiled its first two electric vehicles at its manufacturing facility in King Abdullah Economic City.
Saudi Ceer EVs moved from design concept to public reveal on 21 September, marking a decisive step in the kingdom’s push into automotive manufacturing and export markets.

Ceer unveiled its first two electric vehicles at its manufacturing facility in King Abdullah Economic City. The Exobot range includes a premium sedan and SUV. Sales in Saudi Arabia are expected to begin in early 2027.

The launch gives investors a clearer view of a major Public Investment Fund-backed industrial project. It also shifts attention towards production readiness, supply-chain depth and customer demand.

Design sets the opening signal

Crown Prince Mohammed bin Salman strongly influenced the vehicles’ design, according to Ceer chief executive James DeLuca. DeLuca said the Crown Prince pressed the team to create distinctive products. The designs aim to reflect Saudi identity and industrial ambition.

That positioning separates Exobot from a conventional assembly project. Ceer wants its first models to establish a recognisable Saudi brand.

Meanwhile, the Exobot sedan and SUV represent the first two vehicles in a planned seven-model portfolio. Ceer expects to introduce five additional models by 2030.

The future range will include medium-sized and compact vehicles. It will also offer different powertrain systems for varied customer needs.

Ceer plans to sell beyond Saudi Arabia. The company has described its vehicles as designed for Saudi and wider regional markets.

That regional focus creates a broader commercial test. Ceer must now convert design attention into reliable production and repeat demand.

What does the project mean for investors?

Ceer was established by Saudi Arabia’s Public Investment Fund with Foxconn. The partnership links sovereign capital with automotive manufacturing expertise.

The company has also formed partnerships with BMW, Hyundai Transys and Rimac. These relationships support vehicle development, components and the wider technology base.

Ceer’s manufacturing complex is being developed for annual capacity of up to 170,000 vehicles. The project is expected to create about 30,000 direct and indirect jobs.

Company estimates put its contribution to Saudi Arabia’s gross domestic product at about SR30 billion, or US$8 billion. Those figures describe planned economic impact rather than current output.

Investors will therefore track construction, commissioning and the start of series production. Reuters reported that Ceer expects production to begin in early 2027, with first Exobot customer deliveries expected in March.

Localisation targets add long-term depth

The company is also targeting deeper local content. Earlier plans set a goal of 45 per cent local content by 2034, alongside an 80 per cent Saudi share of its direct workforce.

As a result, the project’s value extends beyond vehicle sales. It could support suppliers, technical skills and advanced manufacturing across the kingdom.

Ceer’s launch signals that Saudi Arabia’s automotive strategy is entering its execution phase. Investors should watch plant commissioning, supplier localisation and early-order momentum as Ceer approaches 2027 deliveries.
