The world’s first Autism-Certified Airline hosted the first session at London Stansted Airport.
Students from St Elizabeth’s Centre in Hertfordshire joined the event. These students are on the autism spectrum. Their families took part too. Staff guided them from check-in to the departure gate. They passed through security, the lounge, immigration, luggage pick-up, and meet-and-greet areas.
The Travel Rehearsal simulates the full air travel journey. It helps people with accessible needs. They learn airport procedures and onboard setups in advance. This cuts anxiety. It builds confidence for real flights.
Global Rollout Builds Momentum
Emirates trained over 35,000 cabin crew and ground staff in autism awareness. This made it the first Autism-Certified Airline. The training covers the autism spectrum. It tackles misconceptions and travel challenges. Staff now offer tailored support.
Since April 2025, Emirates ran more than 40 Travel Rehearsal sessions worldwide. Airports hosted them in more than 40 cities worldwide, including Dubai, London, and Sydney.
The programme eases travel for over 250 families. It spans six continents. Partners like airports and schools make it work. Feedback shows strong results. Families report less fear.
